STAG NATION
STAG NATION

“I’m not moving forward anymore.” That’s usually the first sentence when stagnation sets in — or is quietly installed. When a nation’s economy stands still, and technology stops surprising anyone, stagnation is in full bloom.

Alright, with a bit of imagination, luck, and innovation, that can still be fixed.

But now it gets personal.
What if it’s not the nation that’s stuck — but the human being?
When someone is caught in standby mode, frozen mid-motion, waiting for the spark to come back — that’s not a pleasant place to be.
The usual motivation for doing or not doing things has stepped out for a smoke break and never returned.
That condition calls for therapy. Urgently.

The quiet arrival of Stag Nation usually starts in the brain.
Very soft, barely noticeable, it sneaks into the thinking studio and makes itself comfortable.
I’ve noticed this in myself.
After a few decades of living and learning on this blue planet, the mind gets tired of wrestling with uncomfortable questions.
It starts longing for retirement — calling in its two best friends for support: Routine and Habit.
Together they offer a vast selection of stagnating possibilities.
A sigh of satisfaction rolls through the synapses: “We’ve earned this.”
And so it is.

Wait — not so fast.
Remember the old saying, “A rolling stone gathers no rust”?
Rusty thought patterns decay fast.
And you can’t grab a lightning thought if it’s been napping too long.
So Stag Nation — bad idea, terrible advisor.

The synapses themselves aren’t fans of this laissez-faire attitude.
They’re genetically wired to bounce, spark, invent, and connect.
It’s a full-time job of the highest order.

And here’s the sweet side of that non-existent chocolate coin:
The more you use your thoughts, the bolder and wilder they become.
It’s simply in their DNA — though “lying” is hardly the right verb for something that’s supposed to jump.

Stag Nation is too lazy for me.
And it contributes nothing to evolution.
